Dans un contexte de forte déshumanisation et de dérésponsabilisation des adultes, doual’art souhaite par cette 4ème édition du Salon Urbain de Douala, marquer la ville avec des œuvres d’art qui interprètent la Déclaration Universelle des Droits de l’Homme, qui a pour vocation de susciter un désir de partage et de mieux-vivre ensemble.
Doual’art organise le SUD, le thème de la 4ème édition du SUD2017 est « La place de l’Humain ». Il se tiendra en décembre 2017, du 5 au 10, 22 oeuvres ont été réalisées par 16 artistes, 11 issus du continent africain.

Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Kinshasa
En 1957 : L’Ecole Saint-Luc est débaptisée et dévient Académie des Beaux-Arts.
En 1981 : L’ABA-KIN est un Etablissement public d’enseignement Supérieur jouissant de la personnalité juridique soumis à la tutelle du Ministère de l’Enseignement Supérieur et Universitaire aussi qu’à la sous-tutelle du Conseil d’Administration des Instituts Supérieurs Techniques (CA-IST) .
En 2001, pour la première fois, un échange entre des élèves et des artistes habitants en France ont réalisés ensemble un projet « Rondpoint » organisé par l’association CHOOSEONE. Depuis, entre l’Academie des Beaux Arts de Kinshasa, l’Ecole Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Strasbourg et le Musée Royal de l’Afrique Centrale (MRAC ), ainsi que la Faculté des Beaux-Arts de l’Université Polytechnique de Valence en Espace, des ateliers de formation et des stages professionnels sont organisés de part et d’autre de beaux projets se sont mit en place. L’Académie des Beaux-Arts dispose en son sein d’une résidence d’accueil pour les artistes et hommes de culture étrangers de passage à Kinshasa.

GLASSBOX “Artist run space”, en résidence à la CIUP depuis 2007.
Glassbox a toujours eu pour vocation de promouvoir la création contemporaine internationale en arts visuels, sans frontières techniques ni théoriques. S Alexievitch donne la parole aux victimes de Tchernobyl, l’auteur étant elle-même malade après de nombreux voyages en zone contaminée.
A voir absolument, le documentaire de 24 mn de Wladimir Tchertkoff (2003), prix du meilleur documentaire scientifique et d’environnement. Dans les mois qui suivirent la catastrophe de Tchernobyl,un million de liquidateurs ont été réquisitionnés pour tenter de confiner le réacteur en feu. Le témoignage de quelques-uns d’entre eux, la mort de la plupart dans l’indifférence générale.

SAVVY The Laboratory Form and Ideas
Eight years after the inception of SAVVY Contemporary: The Laboratory of Form-Ideas, an art space, discursive platform, eating and drinking spot, njangi house, space for conviviality SAVVY Contemporary situates itself at the threshold of notions and constructs of the West and non-West, primarily to understand and negotiate between, and obviously to deconstruct the ideologies and connotations eminent to such constructs. For this, it seems appropriate to invoke, convoke or deploy the “cosmogenic powers” of artists and artistic practice to guide us. On this journey SAVVY Contemporary engages in what Paget Henry would call the “poetic power of artistic practice” to “un-name and re-name, to de-institute old selves and establish new ones, and to silence imposed voices and reclaim lost ones” in an effort to resolve the “crisis of entrapment.”………..
In summary, SAVVY Contemporary gives space to reflect on colonialities of power (Anibal Quijano) and how these affect histories, geographies, gender and race. It is a space wherein epistemological disobedience and delinking (Walter Mignolo) are practiced, and it is a space for decolonial practices and aesthetics. We propose to move with Sylvia Wynter “towards the Human, after Man.”

Established in 1994, Gasworks is a non-profit contemporary visual art organisation working at the intersection between UK and international practices and debates. We provide studios for London-based artists; commission emerging UK-based and international artists to present their first major exhibitions in the UK; and develop a highly-respected international residencies programme, which offers rare opportunities for international artists to research and develop new work in London. All programmes are accompanied by events and participatory workshops that engage audiences directly with artists and their work.
Process and development are fundamental to us. We establish long-term relationships with artists and work with them to test out new ideas and establish dialogue with peers and the public. This level of support allows artists to confidently make a significant new step in their professional career, whether the outcome is a work-in-progress, an event or an exhibition.
Over the last two decades Gasworks has worked with over 250 artists from 70 countries around the world. Gasworks is also the hub of the Triangle Network, an international network of over thirty arts organisations, mostly based in Africa, Asia and South America. Triangle Network regularly develops and facilitates artists’ residencies and workshops as well as peer-to-peer exchanges, both between the UK and the rest of the world or within a specific region. Triangle informs Gasworks’ programme, giving the organisation unparalleled opportunities to nurture and exhibit artists from across the world.

Founded in 2007, Delfina Foundation promotes artistic exchange and experimentation. We create opportunities for emerging and established artists, curators and writers to reflect on what they do, position their practice within relevant global discourse, create career-defining research and commissions, and network with colleagues. We forge international collaborations to build shared platforms to incubate, to present and to discuss common practices and themes.
In January 2014, Delfina Foundation expanded into an adjacent building at 31 Catherine Place in central London, becoming London’s largest provider of international residencies for artists, creative practitioners, and collectors.

Our guiding objectives are to:
- Facilitate mobility of cultural practitioners to develop their practice through a greater access to learning, resources and networks

The Mosaic Rooms are a non-profit art gallery and bookshop dedicated to supporting and promoting contemporary Arab culture in London. We do this through our free contemporary art exhibitions, our multidisciplinary events (including film screenings, current affairs talks, book launches and more) artist residencies and learning & engagement programme.
We work in partnership with local, national and international organisations to disseminate our combined arts programme to the widest possible audience – in London and beyond. Our previous collaborations include partnerships with The British Museum, ICA, Shubbak Festival, London Design Festival and London Festival of Architecture, amongst many others.
We believe in the importance of creating a cultural space that presents new thinking and daring creativity, illuminates ideas, inspires understanding, and interrogates contemporary issues. Our vision is for a London audience with a more informed, engaged and critical understanding of Arab culture and society.
